Christopher Greco, 52, a co-founder of Christopher’s Voice, Inc., a New Rochelle-based charity aiding children with autism, has been arraigned on a felony charge of embezzling approximately $24,000 from the organization, according to Westchester County District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah.
According to the felony complaint, between January 2018 and May 2023, Greco diverted funds intended for Christopher’s Voice, Inc. for personal expenses.
The arrest was made on Sept. 21 by the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.
Greco, a 25-year veteran of the New Rochelle Police Department who retired in August 2021, was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree. He was arraigned before Judge Matthew Costa in New Rochelle City Court, where the charge was upgraded to grand larceny in the third degree.
The defendant's next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 25.
