? Police are investigating a stabbing of a student at the Newburgh Free Academy, which sent the school into lockdown Friday.
Police say 18-year-old Steve Ferenelis was stabbed at the high school when he tried to break up a fight between several students in the cafeteria. Ferenelis was stabbed twice by a 16-year-old student during the altercation. He was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
The suspect was arrested a short time later near his home. He was charged with first-degree assault. Police say two teachers who intervened in the fight were also injured. They were treated at the hospital and released.
Police say two other incidents occurred at the school Friday morning as well.
