Republican state Assembly candidate for the 94th District, Frank Sparaco, is refuting claims that he knowingly accepted campaign donations from businesses affiliated with organized crime.
Sparaco says that the claims are untrue, and that he is being confused with his father, Frank Sparaco Jr., who is a convicted killer with ties to the Colombo crime family.
Sparaco says he was abandoned by his father when he was an infant and has no relationship with him. He says the sins of the father shouldn't be carried by the son.
As for his campaign contributions, he says that he has no knowledge that any money came from individuals linked to organized crime.
