Two days after GOP gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino made controversial remarks regarding homosexuals, he sat down exclusively with News 12 reporter Tara Rosenblum to discuss those comments as well as a chance to show his personal side.
In the no-question off-limits interview, Paladino discussed how he has handled his meteoric rise into the political forefront and the bumps that have come with it.
His biggest bump came this past Sunday, where during a Brooklyn campaign stop with Orthodox leaders he said, "I don't want [kids] to be brainwashed thinking homosexuality is an equally valid or successful option, it isn't."
Today, he admitted that he "probably could have worded it differently... been more careful." And he added that he is "100 percent for gay rights."
While trying to ease the damage done by the comments, he also opened up about his interests. He said that his favorite movie is "Apocalypse Now" because of Marlon Brando and that he considers Winston Churchill his role model.
