A police officer was injured during a robbery arrest Saturday afternoon at the Dollar General on Main Street in Hyde Park. Shoplifting suspect Romairo Stroman is accused of trying to push an arresting officer to the ground. Once additional help arrived to the scene, officers were able to arrest Stroman - he's now facing multiple charges.
A Newburgh Elementary School teacher is facing drug charges after she was allegedly found with 200 bags of heroin. Jennifer Krom, 39, was arrested earlier this month in Ulster County along with 29-year-old wanted fugitive Jason Pease. The pair were arrested after an investigation into drug sales. Pease is being held on bail, and Krom was released on an appearance ticket. Newburgh Superintendent Roberto Padilla tells News 12 that the district is taking every step to ensure student safety and that Krom is on administrative leave.
A Carmel man has been arrested for a string of car break-ins in Cortlandt.  State Troopers say they tried to interview Michael O'Connor III Tuesday morning around 4:30 a.m. on Ridge Road but he ran off. He was found a short time later in a nearby wooded area. He's due back in court later this month.
