A man is now facing charges for leading police on a chase and evading officers for two days. Police in the Town of Ramapo say they tried to stop the driver on Sunday, who then took off. They say the suspect had active warrants for forcible touching, criminal obstruction of breathing and other charges. Officers say they located the suspect at a home in Hillcrest the next day, hiding in the attic. He's now facing additional charges including unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Westchester County's Hazardous Devices Unit is being recognized for removing a live grenade from a White Plains basement.Officials say the safety pin was partially removed and resting on an unstable platform. After careful handling, the grenade was placed into the explosive containment trailer and taken away for disposal.

And a new bill requiring safety inspections on freight trains is making progress in New York state Legislature. The bill requires at least two on-site inspectors to conduct safety checks before and during a train's departure. That includes assessments of the tracks, wheels, brakes, and bearings. Right now, railroad companies rely solely on live video feeds that need to be monitored. According to the Federal Railway Administration, the U.S. averages about three derailments per day.
