Rockland County?s community of Hillcrest has been plagued by ongoing problems with water pressure.
Due to lack of rain, some of the wells pumped dry and started pumping air into the system. The lack of water became such an issue in the neighborhood that residents called the fire department to check the hydrants. When the fire department opened them up, air came out for nine minutes.
United Water says there was a combination of heavy demand and some air in the lines that caused some blockages. They add flushing resolved the problems. However, some residents say low water pressure has been an issue for too long and steps need to be taken to resolve the water demand.
