Homeless families at record high in NYC

As the temperature and economy continue to fall, the Department of Homeless Services is trying its best to accommodate the growing number of families that need shelter.
New York City is experiencing a record high number of homeless families than ever before. Homelessness has soared 13 percent over the past six months. The DHS is helping many Bronx families, but room at shelters may soon become scarce.
?You don't know how many people are suffering out here,? said shelter seeker Jana Stroe.
The Department of Homeless Services says it is responding to increased demand and serving vulnerable families the best that it can.
