Heavy rains headed toward the Hudson Valley has DPW and Emergency Management officials on alert.
With soaking rain expected Tuesday evening, and more on the way this weekend, as a result of Tropical Storm Debbie, DPW crews have been out checking drains to make sure they're cleared of any debris.
Extra crews are being scheduled and equipment checked.
In Yonkers, residents can get up to five sandbags to help with flooding issues at the recycling center at 735 Saw Mill River Road.
DPW officials are advising people to avoid travel during the rainstorms and to report any downed trees or wires.
