Hundreds of people came together for a community gathering at Temple Israel Center in White Plains Tuesday night to call for the release of all remaining hostages in the Gaza Strip.

 

A total of 136 people are still believed to be in be held captive 102 days after the war between Israel and Hamas began.

 

Among the missing are at least four with ties to the Hudson Valley, including Yarden Bibas, his wife, Shiri and their two children - almost 1-year-old Kfir and 4-year-old Ariel.

 

Shiri's parents, Margit and Yosi Silverman, were killed by Hamas in late October last year.

Margit's brother is Maurice Shnaider, who lives in Kingston, Ulster County.

 

He joined Tuesday's event virtually.

 

"I hope to see you here at my house, on a very happy occasion, when they will be free and we will be able to celebrate," he said.

 

Attendees hoped to act as the hostages' voices and draw public support for their immediate releases.
