More than 400 Bronx elementary and middle school students competed Saturday in the First Lego League competition at Adlai Stevenson High School.
The competition?s theme this year was climate change, and students worked in groups of 10 to develop technological remedies to help solve climate issues. Students worked for three months researching different climate problems and constructing robots out of Legos. In addition to their competition materials, the students had to create an outreach effort within their own communities to inform residents of the issues.
The students? projects were judged based on presentation, robotic performance, technical design and programming, but most of all, teamwork.
