Hundreds of protesters rallied for change at the Waterfront Park in Dobbs Ferry Thursday.
About a dozen local speakers, including state Sen. Andrea Stewart-Cousins, took to the stage to educate the crowd about the generations of oppression people of color have been suffering.
Many tell News 12 that they are fed up and tired of racism, police brutality and social injustice. They say it's about time to make a difference.
"We are unheard, and it's time for change...and we need to protect the younger generation, especially the young kings and queens out there...everybody," said EJ Roberts, of Ardsley.
Many of the protests and rallies across the Hudson Valley have remained peaceful, and the protesters in Dobbs Ferry said it was one of the most effective ways to demand a change.
