A raging fire tore through a home in Somers, happening just before 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Preserves complex.
Fire officials say the flames were intense in the front of the home and the attic. As conditions inside started to deteriorate even more and the integrity of the roof was compromised, an order was given for outside operations only.
It took over four hours to bring the blaze under control. There were no reported injuries and the cause is under investigation. Numerous departments from throughout the area helped in fighting the blaze.
