A state Supreme Court judge is hearing a new lawsuit today that seeks to remove a candidate from the 17th Congressional District race next month.
Anthony Frascone beat Democratic former Rep. Mondaire Jones in the Working Families primary in June – but has since run an anonymous, no-show campaign.
Democratic leaders in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties claim Frascone is using bad faith practices to illegitimately influence the outcome of the election by syphoning votes away from Jones in what is expected to be a very close race against Republican Rep. Mike Lawler.
Respondents in the case have claimed no wrongdoing and said this lawsuit was filed far too late.
