Jurors opted to end deliberating early Friday in the trial of a man accused of murdering someone over drug money. The move to leave early seemed to signal the jury is not close to a consensus in the murder trial of James Harris. Members of the jury also asked to once again hear testimony in which the accused killer describes events on the night of murder. Harris is accused, along with James Blagmon, of murdering Franklin Fitts, a father of three from Yonkers.

Police say Fitts' body was found badly beaten, bound with tape and stuffed in the trunk of his own car on First Street in Newburgh in September. Blagmon was already convicted in the murder and prosecutors say Harris is just as guilty.

However, Harris told jurors he didn?t take part in the killing. He says he saw blood spats on the wall of the location where Fitts was allegedly beaten, but says he didn't know what had happened. Harris admits helping dump the body in Newburgh, but he says he did it unknowingly.
