A Kingston man was arrested and indicted for attempted murder after a monthslong search.
Ulster County Sheriff Department deputies received a call in February about a violent assault on Ridge Road in the Town of Hurley.
A man with multiple stab wounds tried to drive himself to the hospital, but realized he was losing so much blood that he wasn't going to make it.
A deputy found him and saved his life.
An investigation revealed, before the attack, 33-year-old Mainor Sagastume confronted a woman he had been stalking in front of that man.
Sagastume is accused of attacking both of them, stabbing the man then running.
It wasn't until summer 2023 the sheriff's office and U.S. Marshals found Sagastume in Florida.
He was extradited back to New York and is in Ulster County Jail without bail.
