Stephanie Sherman Saragnese is busy at work in her home's basement, a makeshift workshop for her Etsy shop
Creationsbystephhh.
"We have a lot of different things," she explained. "We have shirts, cups, beaded items...which are pens, badge reels, wristlets, lanyards [and more]."
Saragnese always had a love for arts and crafts, channeling her artistic side as young as 5 years old.
"I was super into all of the crafty things," she said. "I had all different crayons and pencils and paper and all different craft things growing up."
That love was then reignited in 2020, when she was looking for a pandemic pastime.
" I ended up just buying a Cricut and making some cups just for fun," Saragnese explained. "I posted them on my personal page and a lot of friends and family were like, 'Oh my god, those are so cute.' So, I started making [cups] for them and they posted [the cups on social media]. Then, friends of friends and their family members started reaching out asking for them. So, I started just making a little business page and a lot of people started reaching out for the cups. [It] started growing from there."
From the family and friends in Westchester County, Saragnese's following has grown to customers from all over the nation, making her feel more love and support than ever before.
" You make so many friends online that you'll never meet," she said. "I have customers out in California, in Florida, just so many different places and they're my biggest supporters. Strangers will always be your biggest supporter. There'll always be someone out there rooting for you, even if you've never met them in person."
Saragnese can also do customized items for customers. Anyone who's interested can find her creations on her
Etsy and
Instagram pages.
