A Montrose man was arrested Wednesday for an attempted burglary that occurred on Sept. 25, according to authorities.

Police say the incident was reported at 177 South Riverside Ave. Upon arrival, officers found broken glass near the back door of the building.

They determined that the suspect had failed to gain entry and then fled the scene.

Detectives used surveillance footage and data from license plate reader cameras to identify the suspect at 40-year-old Steven J. Cilento.

Police say he has been charged with multiple counts of attempted burglary and criminal mischief.
