Police are asking for the public’s help to identify the man who they say assaulted a 68-year-old man with a Razor scooter in Crown Heights.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday on Lincoln Place between Utica and Schenectady avenues.

Police said the two men got into an argument, then the attacker grabbed a Razor scooter and hit the victim multiple times in the head.

Police said the attacker ran off towards Schenectady Avenue.

A source told News 12 on Friday that the victim and attacker did not know each other.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and is expected to be OK.

“I’ve never heard of anything like it in the neighborhood,” said Aleisha, of Crown Heights. “I mean, people get into altercations, but to bash somebody’s head in with a scooter is crazy.”

“For years, this neighborhood has been concentrated for just bad, illegal activity,” said Caleb Christian, of Crown Heights.

“I am shocked,” said Ace Teish, of Crown Heights. “That is not something characteristic about our block at all. We’re a very close-knit block, all of our neighbors. It’s a very diverse block.”

A police source said the victim lives in Manhattan. It was unclear why the victim was in Crown Heights that night, or what the argument between the two men was about.
