The annual Westchester County Memorial Day Service brought together friends, family members and military veterans.
Ninety-nine-year-old Herman Geist, a World War II veteran said, "Memorial Day is very important and we should celebrate every moment while we're here."

The council will work to ensure that veterans of all ages receive the information and services they need to enhance their lives.
Additionally, the Westchester County Veteran's Museum was reopened, with a new special exhibit called "The American Experience During World War II."
The exhibit features actual uniforms and weapons used during the war and highlights the military contributions of male and female service members from Westchester County.
