Frustrated homeowners in Montebello have taken their concerns about flooding to Rockland County lawmakers.
Roseanne and David Gordon say whenever there's a heavy rainstorm, the nearby Mahwah River overflows and their backyard begins to resemble a lake.
"It should be dredged so that there's enough of an outflow of water and it doesn't accumulate and endanger the homes," David Gordon says.
Neighbors say a representative from the county's drainage agency has already reached out to them and scheduled a meeting for next month. Neighbors hope it will be the first step in providing some much-needed relief.
