A moose that was trapped in icy waters in the Adirondacks is now safe thanks to the heroic efforts of New York state forest rangers.
The animal was spotted last Thursday, approximately 100 yards from shore, and crews quickly sprang into action.
Using a chainsaw, they cut a path through the ice, allowing the moose to gain its footing and run to safety in the nearby woods.
