New City appears to have received the highest snowfall totals in Rockland County following the recent winter storm.
Records show more than 17 inches of snow fell in the area.
On Monday afternoon, News 12 saw countless plow trucks on the roads and homeowners working to clear driveways, many of them faced with snow piles several feet deep.
On Berkshire Drive in New City, neighbors pitched in to help one another after the storm. One resident said he was clearing his driveway when his snowblower needed to be recharged multiple times.
His neighbor came by with his.
“I’m so happy that he came by to help me,” said Peter Rivera of New City. “It would have taken me like at least three or four more hours to dig myself out. He’s a true buddy.”
That neighbor is Buddy Singh.
When asked what Singh, a retired pathologist, did on Sunday, he shared that he helped his wife get home after she finished her shift as a nurse at a local hospital.
