A new exhibition at the Kingsbridge Historical Society gives visitors a sweeping, larger‑than‑life look at the Bronx. The showcase features massive cityscapes, dreamlike landscapes and vivid scenes that capture the borough’s streets, people and everyday rhythm.
A celebrated Bronx painter, Daniel Hauben, known for decades of capturing the borough’s streets, people and everyday life, is unveiling some of his largest works to date.
At the center of the exhibit are two standout works: “Reflecting on the Familiar,” a 21‑foot panoramic painting, and “Emergence,” a striking 9‑foot piece. Together, they offer an immersive journey through the neighborhoods, architecture, and energy that define the Bronx.
The collection highlights the borough beyond stereotypes, focusing instead on community, diversity and the lived experiences that shape its identity. For many visitors, the exhibit becomes more than an art display. It’s a chance to see the Bronx through someone else’s memories and rediscover their own.
