Iona University students can get on the path to secret service jobs through a new partnership program.
The United States Secret Service will be setting up a recruitment hub on campus for Hudson Valley college students.
U.S. Secret Service agents spoke to six criminal justice classes about various career opportunities, qualifications and duties to kick off the program this week.
Students got to hear firsthand experiences about the academy and the specifics of the rigorous process.
"Our goal for this partnership is to provide students with the insight and information they need to jumpstart a career with the Secret Service," said Patrick J. Freaney, special agent in charge of the Secret Service’s New York field office.
The Secret Service will some back to the university for the spring 2024 semester for more recruitment sessions and interviews, written exams, and to conduct fitness tests.
The applications are now open to college seniors or perspective students can contact the Career Center.
To learn more about the opportunity, applicants can email Matt Cardin at mcardin@iona.edu.
