It was a close call for a boater who called for help early Thursday morning on the Long Island Sound.
It happened around 8 a.m. near the border of New Rochelle and Larchmont.
New Rochelle police say they received a call about a boat taking on water with at least one person on board.
However, when Harbor Patrol arrived on scene, they realized a water hose to the boat's engine was the actual cause of the water issues.
All was well once the engine was shut off and the hose was tightened.
