Rockland County officials announced the formation of a new task force Wednesday to help ward off any terror threats.
Officials say the Rockland County Homeland Security Task Force marks the beginning of one of the most important initiatives ever taken in the county. The 25-member team is made up of men and women from law enforcement agencies, hospitals, schools and businesses throughout the area.
In preparation for the task force launch, county officials created a pamphlet with information on terrorists and what residents should look for in potential threats. The pamphlets will be distributed at all Rockland train and bus stations starting Thursday.
