Newburgh residents are calling for a stop in violence after a father of seven was fatally shot this week, marking the city's 10th homicide this year.
Police say 35-year-old Jeffrey Henry collapsed on Lander Street Wednesday and later died after getting shot a block away. They say the Newburgh violence is the worst it has been in more than 20 years.
The police department says it is stepping up patrols and recruitment efforts, and hopes the FBI will relocate its office from Goshen.
Police say they have not yet made any arrests in Henry's case.
