Newburgh animal control officer Joice Kyles rescued a pit bull this week that was bred to fight.
Kyles claims there are many more dogs that need to be taken off the streets for fear they could attack people. Kyles found four other dogs two weeks ago.
The dogs used to be placed in Flannery Animal Hospital but the hospital canceled its contract with the city in January due to large bills. The city manager is working with the SPCA to come up with a new contract.
