People will soon be able to apply for the state's first marijuana retail dispensaries.
The Office of Cannabis Management just announced its application portal will open for one month starting Aug. 25.
To be eligible for a license, residents have to choose to apply as a qualifying business or nonprofit.
Those on the business track must have a marijuana-related offense conviction before March 31, 2001 or have had a certain relationship with someone with that offense.
People also need experience owning and operating a qualifying business.
