New York Gov. Kathy Hochul may have plans to “unpause” the MTA’s congestion pricing plan. This would mean that it could soon cost New Jersey residents more to drive into Manhattan.

Hochul declined to go into specifics but said that she would have an announcement in the near future. She paused the plan before it was set to launch in the summer, saying that the $15 was too high. But she said she plans to put forth a proposal that would fund the program and deal with the mitigation of environmental impacts.

Hochul also mentioned that she will make sure the MTA has the resources it needs to do basic maintenance and wants to have new trains built.

“We have a plan to do this, as we have since June. Needing some more time to work out details. This is the process that we envisioned, was planned, for all along,” Hochul said during a news event Tuesday morning.

During this event, Hochul also reaffirmed having a proposal to solve the MTA funding by the end of the year.
