Supporters of Sen. Barack Obama, the country's president-elect, enjoyed a jubilant night Tuesday at his Rockland County headquarters.
Cheers and tears of joy filled the room in Ramapo as Obama was elected as the nation's first black president. Many people called loved ones and shared hugs with those nearby. "I look at our little kids and I say we can do anything we put our mind[s] to," says one supporter.
After Tuesday night's results, Democrats will control the White House and both houses of Congress for the first time since 1994.
