Officials say a prominent gang member pleaded guilty to federal charges in connection to the fatal shooting of a Poughkeepsie teen.
Brandon Soto admitted to his role in the killing of 15-year-old Jalani Jones, who was shot in September 2020.
Soto, 25, pleaded guilty in White Plains Federal Court to multiple charges, including racketeering, conspiracy and providing a firearm to a minor with reason to believe the minor would commit a crime of violence.
Sentencing is set for April of next year.
Soto faces up to 35 years at sentencing.
