The new medical facility opening up in Orange County is already spurring talk of a significant increase in economic growth for the region.
With more than 350 rooms, 50 treatment bays and 12 operating rooms, the brand-new Orange County Medical Center is expected to be a 600,000 square-foot engine for Wallkill and Middletown's economies.
The new facility has combined the Arden Hill and Horton campuses and although it hasn't taken one patient in yet, the hospital projects it is already pumping revenue out.
The Orange County Medical Center officially begins to treat patients on Friday. Officials say they expect 30-40 patients to be transferred every hour tomorrow and expect it to last all day.
