Washingtonville High School's principal, who was formerly an educator in Westchester, has been arrested on charges that he sexually abused a male student.
Michael Rossi, 51, of New Windsor, is being charged with sexual abuse, forcible touching, aggravated harassment and endangering the welfare of a minor.
New Windsor police say Rossi repeatedly texted a 16-year-old student and that the alleged sexual abuse occurred in a car in Cornwall.
A representative for the Washingtonville Central School District says that Rossi is now on administrative leave and that the assistant principal is acting in his place.
Deputy Chief Rick Hovey, of the New Windsor Police Department, says there is no indication that that any other students were victimized.
Rossi is currently free on $2,500 bail.
