Dozens of people rallied outside U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer's office in Peekskill Monday, demanding he does everything possible to make sure a new Supreme Court Justice is not nominated before the new year.
Just days after the passing of longtime Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, people are gathering to hold elected leaders accountable.
The group in Peekskill wants the Senate Minority Leader to stop
his Republican colleagues from confirming a new justice before the inauguration
in January…especially with under 50 days to go until the election.
Speakers and organizers touched upon the ways Justice
Ginsberg impacted their lives, including court decisions expanding the
Americans with Disabilities Act, curbing job discrimination, and creating
marriage equality.
