Out-of-court settlement reached in lawsuit claiming abuse by Valhalla HS music teacher

The alleged abuse began in the 1985 and continued until the fall of 1986.

An out-of-court settlement has been reached in a lawsuit filed by a Valhalla High School student against the school district and a music teacher.

The student claimed the teacher threatened her with bad grades unless she had sex with him.

The alleged abuse began in the 1985 and continued until the fall of 1986

.The lawsuit was filed in 2020 under the Child Victims Act.

Details are not being released under the terms of the settlement. Attorneys for the student and teacher Jeffrey Dulitz had no comment.

Messages left with the school district were not returned.
