STORM WATCH: On and off rain through the day with highs near 50

The morning commute could be sloppy with pockets of moderate rain at times. Not a huge rain maker but there are several rounds that continue throughout Monday and into the overnight.

There are a few waves of wet weather impacting Long Island this week. Have the umbrella handy. The first wave today will provide wet weather on and off all day long. The second wave will bring rain tonight into the first part of Tuesday. The third wave will bring rain Wednesday afternoon into early Thursday morning. The total rain will be between a half inch and one inch.
TODAY: Cloudy with on and off rain through the day. High near 50. Southeast wind 5 to 15 mph.
TONIGHT: Cloudy with periods of rain. Lows 47 to 50. South wind 10 to 15 mph.
Tuesday: Cloudy with rain likely before 10 a.m. Clouds giving way to afternoon sunshine. High near 58. Southwest wind 10 to 16 mph.
Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 36. West wind 5 to 10 mph. Wednesday: Rain likely after 1 p.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 51.
Wednesday Night: Cloudy , with periods of rain, mainly before 1 a.m. Low around 35. Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 46. Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 26.
