State police say it was a New Rochelle man who was struck and killed by a delivery van on I-95 Monday morning.

Police say 63-year-old Luis Izarra Ampuero was walking southbound just north of Exit 14 in Pelham when he was hit.

He died at the scene.

Police do not know why he was walking in the roadway at the time he was struck.

The driver of the delivery van was not injured. No charges have been filed.
