One person is in custody after a police chase that ended in Mount Vernon.

State police say the Town of Carmel Police Department issued a Be on the Lookout (BOLO) for a white Mercedes-Benz involved in a reported grand larceny case.

New York State Police located the vehicle in question traveling on Interstate 287, and a pursuit was initiated, ultimately leading to a foot pursuit in the area of 737 South 6th Ave. in the City of Mount Vernon.

State police say there is no threat to public safety at this time.
