? Middletown police, with help from music industry investigators, busted three businesses that were selling illegal DVDs and CDs.
Jerome Whitaker, the owner of Double R, and Garcia?s Market owner Alvaro Garcia are charged with failure to disclose the origin of a recording. The owner of Daddy Rich, Richard Perry, is charged with trademark counterfeiting.
Some Middletown residents told News 12 Westchester copying or stealing music is a victimless crime, but police say bootleggers are cheating the recording industry and customers who expect high quality.
None of the suspects would comment on their arrests.
