The FDNY says a manhole erupted in flames in Spuyten Duyvil on Monday around 9:30 a.m.
Neighbors say the cap flew off and damaged a building located at West 227th Street and Henry Hudson Parkway West.
News 12 spoke with a superintendent in the area who said he heard a loud boom. He says he now has to fix a glass door in the lobby of his building that was damaged in the blast.
A witness also said she saw a car drive over the manhole before it exploded.
Con Edison dispatched a crew to the location. There are no reports of any outages.
