A Poughkeepsie man, serving time for the murder of a Long Island father, has been convicted of another murder.
A Dutchess County jury has found Roy Johnson, 36, guilty in the August 2022 shooting of Darren Villani.
Authorities reported that while it was Johnson's accomplice who fired the fatal shot, Johnson engaged in a struggle with the victim before the incident.
Johnson subsequently took cash from Villani's car and removed a gold chain and watch from him.
Johnson is currently serving a 58-year prison sentence for the murder of 53-year-old Paul Kutz at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Poughkeepsie last October.
