Three days after a tornado struck central Westchester, power was finally restored to Valhalla Friday and the process of cleaning up could begin.

Residents on Stevens Avenue, which runs through Valhalla and Hawthorne, were still dealing with the road being closed due to downed trees and power lines. Con Edison crews were out in force working to return power to customers. Police are hoping they would be able to open the road by Friday night. They also say there were only a few homes left without power.

County officials estimate the cost of the damage caused by the tornado to be more than $10 million. The F1 and F2 classification of the tornado means the county can be eligible for state and federal aid.
