Prosecutor: 1 dead, 2 injured in Jersey City shooting

Three people were shot, one fatally, Sunday night in the area of Central Avenue and Bowers Street in Jersey City, according to the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor.
The shooting unfolded around 9 p.m. The Jersey City Police Department responded to the scene around 9 p.m. Officers found Freddie Posey, 25, of Jersey City, and a 30-year-old female at the scene with gunshot wounds.
Posey was later pronounced dead at Jersey City Medical Center. The female was treated for an injury that was not life-threatening.
Prosecutor Esther Suarez says a third victim, a 24-year-old male from Jersey City, self-transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment.
