Putnam County Sheriff's deputies will not face any charges in the fatal shooting of a Carmel man that happened in Kent last January.
The decision comes after a special investigation by the attorney general's office.
In January, deputies responded to a kidnapping in Kent. When deputies arrived, they found 34-year-old
Christopher Torres, of Carmel, allegedly stabbing a woman.
Police told Torres to drop his weapon.
When he moved the knife to the woman's throat, two deputies shot and killed him.
The woman suffered numerous stab wounds.
The investigation included a review of bodycam footage, 911 calls and interviews with witnesses.
