Questions surround the deaths of two New York National Guard officers killed in a series of explosions in Iraq.

The Army first reported the men died in a mortar attack in Tikrit last Tuesday, but now officials say evidence suggests the explosions could be a criminal act.

Army Captain Phillip Esposito, 30, of Pearl River, was one of the men killed. The West Point graduate grew up in Spring Valley and attended Albertus Magnus High School. The second solider killed in that attack was Lieutenant Lou Allen. He was a teacher at Baker High School in Tuxedo in Orange County.

Both of the soldiers? bodies will be flown home to the Hudson Valley Tuesday. Wake and funeral services for Esposito will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday in Rockland. Still no word on exactly when services will be held for Allen.
