A 10-year veteran from the Ramapo Police Department is the subject of disciplinary hearings in his department for allegedly violating departmental rules.
Some speculate Officer Andrew Dale may have played a role in a recent Monsey scandal, when Zalman Silber, a businessman, was accused of posing as a fake gynecologist. Dale has been suspended without pay, and it is still unclear why.
News 12 Hudson Valley tried to speak with Ramapo PBA Attorney Reynold Mauro, but Mauro wouldn?t comment. Mauro was at town hall on Wednesday for a closed-door disciplinary hearing.
The Rockland District Attorney?s Office is investigating a possible connection between an unnamed officer and Silber. Ken Gribetz, Silber?s attorney, was at the hearing on Wednesday. ?It?s coincidental that I?m here,? Gribetz says.
Gribetz would not say whether or not Dale was the unnamed officer. He did, however, defend his client, saying that the allegations against Silber are ?total fabrication,? and that two of four women did not pick Silber out of a lineup.
Dale?s lawyer, David Goldstein, says the D.A.?s office has been investigating Dale for eight months and that there are no criminal charges against his client. He also denies any connection between Dale and Silber.
