Congresswoman Elise Stefanik just officially announced a run for New York governor.

The Republican represents the 21st Congressional District in upstate New York.

Stefanik has ramped up her criticism of current Gov. Kathy Hochul in recent weeks.

Hochul released a statement in response to the announcement, saying “While Stefanik puts Trump first and New York last, Gov. Hochul is lowering costs, cutting middle class taxes and fighting for the New Yorkers Stefanik abandoned.”
