Rockland County announced that its HERROS college tuition program is officially underway.
It's a chance for the county to give back to its volunteer first responders.
The program will reimburse volunteer first responders up to $6,000 toward their tuition in exchange for their service to the county.
The county says it's also there for heroes in other ways, including the Veterans Service Agency's work helping veterans with financial assistance, housing and other services.
